Current Research Vincent Cho will be joining the faculty at Boston College as an assistant professor this fall. He completed his doctorate in Educational Policy and Planning at The University of Texas at Austin. Vincent's research focuses on districts' implementation of computer data systems and their implications for teacher practice. This research allows him to pursue interests relating to agency, sensemaking, organizational learning, and the management of school districts. Working closely with Jeffrey C. Wayman, he has co-authored numerous book chapters, conference papers, and technical reports relating to the use of educational data to improve schooling. Experience in Policy and Practice Vincent served as Policy Analyst for the Texas Senate Committee on Higher Education during the 80th (Regular), 81st (Regular), and 81st (Special) Sessions. During these years, he helped forward, analyze, and negotiate higher education legislation. Vincent is also a former assistant principal, middle school teacher, and Teach for America corps member. In 2002, he was a National Writing Project Fellow at the University of Houston - Clear Lake. In 2004, he earned his masters' degree at the University of Houston with a specialization in urban principalship. In 2005, he attended Harvard University's National Institute for Urban School Leaders. These experiences led to his current interests in school and district improvement. |
